Spring / SummerCelebrations - Plays - Singing - and Walks
We plan a year in advance for our events. If you want to submit an event or idea, please do so by attending our monthly board meeting, which are open to the public. You can request an event form from us, to help you get the process started.
These represent our current Spring and Summer events for the 2015 season.
Mardi Gras Fundraiser
Our second annual Mardi Gras event was held at the Marriott in Love Tree Colorado. Silent auction, live music, festival attire and incredible food was served up on the evening. Expect our 2016 version to be a knockout party! We’re taking it outside! Interested in sponsoring the event? Give us a call!
Escanaba In Da Moonlight
“Escanaba in Da Moonlight” at Parker Mainstreet Center. The play, written by Jeff Daniels, is directed by Spencer Duncan.
When the Soady clan reunites for the opening day of deer season at the family’s Upper Peninsula camp, 35-year-old Reuben Soady brings with him the infamous reputation of being the oldest Soady in family history never to bag a buck. In a hunting story to beat all hunting stories, “Escanaba in Da Moonlight” spins a hilarious tale of humor, horror and heart as Reuben goes to any and all lengths to remove himself from the wrong end of the family record book.
“Happily Ever Once Upon”
Come see our play! We’ve done this one up right. It is being performed at an outdoor theater on the south side of Victorian Peaks. 11020 Pikes Peak Drive, Parker, CO 80138.
Tickets are FREE! Donations will be accepted at the “open door.”
Performances are Fridays at 7:00 pm, Saturdays at 3:00 and 7:00, and Sundays at 3:00, May 30 through June 8th. Good clean fun and a real swell time for all!
Parker Wine Walks
May – October 2014
The CASC has been providing the street entertainment from our vast catalog of musical entertainers from the local area. If you have a genre preference, you most likely will be able to hear it at any one of the stops along the way. The last Friday of each month, wine walks are a fun outing for adults.
If you have not experienced Parker Days, make this the year you do! 120,000 people over 3.5 days offering 35 hours of open time to get the best of your Summer kick off. CASC provides the community stage and talent each year for this annual event. From music to exercise, our stage is a favorite stopping place for festival goers.
Youth Karaoke / Year Round
Who doesn’t love to sing a favorite song. Our developing youth gather once per month at Takoda’s Bar and Grill (First Tuesday) to hone their skills of stage performance. Karaoke is not only fun, but great way for kids to stretch themselves outside the normal comfort zone. Come on by, it’s the perfect family night.
The CASC is made up of nine board members and four officers. We are a very experienced group with various business backgrounds, but most importantly years and years of community involvement.
As the former Parker Arts Council, we have an established history of 10 years in the community for bringing some of the finest community theatre to the area in addition to musical performances that enhance our area.
We are branching further out to the sciences by offering programs in astronomy, local robotics and soon in the world of bee’s! We’re looking to build our science programs up to be one of the leading programs in the state for both youth and adults.
Within every community, there needs to be culture and cultural awareness. Our two fundraising programs bring just that to our community. We have two celebrations each year that bring out the flavor of true cultural heritage.
