About Parker Oktoberfest

Parker Oktoberfest 2016Eleven years ago, we launched our first Oktoberfest celebration in Parker Colorado as PAC (Parker Arts Council). Primarily as a cultural awareness and fundraising opportunity, we have grown it to a size now that pushes well over 20,000 visitors, 75 vendors and the need to have an outside company partner with us to put it on! We are in our 11th year, and feel we put on a pretty good show!

Authentic German heritage is our theme, and this year we are focused even more on authentic beer, foods and even vendors who will be setting up their wares for us on the grassy streets we create in O’Brien Park. Admission is free for our family-friendly German-themed festival. The event includes a number of fun activities for children, great things to do for adults, and is very family friendly. We will also have kids rides including an obstacle course, bungee tramp, a slide and much more! The festival boasts over 90 total vendors and a variety of activities for children.

logo-cascThe Colorado Council of Arts, Science & Culture (CASC) started the Parker Oktoberfest eleven years ago (as PAC and now as CASC) to celebrate the German culture in Parker and to help raise funds for other CASC events and partnership events during the year.
The CASC was formed in 2003 by a group of professionals–musicians, artists, teachers, directors, and business leaders–who wanted to bring more opportunities for citizens to experience and participate in the arts. The CASC received 501(c)(3) non-profit status in early 2004 and received their first funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) in October 2004. The CASC has received SCFD grant monies to enrich their program offerings in each subsequent year.

The CASC is always seeking new ideas and cultivating their relationships with other organizations and  local businesses.  The Council plans to continue these alliances as well as develop new associations with businesses to further enhance their programs.

The CASC relies on community support to sustain its programs in Douglas County and the front-range. The CASC truly appreciates the generous support it receives from its sponsors and would like to thank them for their continued support.

Erdinger Weissbräu

Erdinger beerThis year we welcome the authentic German brewing company Erdinger as a new presentation partner for the Parker Oktoberfest.

From local brewery to internationally acclaimed wheat beer specialist: since its foundation 130 years ago, the private brewery ERDINGER Weissbräu has become world-famous for its Bavarian wheat beer culture.

The beginnings of ERDINGER Weissbräu date back to 1886, the year in which construction of a wheat beer brewery in the Upper Bavarian town of Erding was first officially recorded. After several changes in ownership, the General Manager at the time, Franz Brombach, was given the chance to buy the brewery in 1935.

Today, ERDINGER Weissbier is a household-name brand, known by over 90 percent of all Germans. The wheat beer specialties also enjoy an excellent reputation beyond Germany’s borders: they are available in over 90 countries on all continents. All beers are still brewed exclusively in Erding: the company does not grant licenses to third parties. As a wheat beer specialist, ERDINGER is fully focused on this traditional top-fermenting beer and offers nine different variants. As a result, ERDINGER Weissbier is famous around the world for traditional Bavarian brewing and lifestyle, as well as for the ultimate in beer enjoyment.
