About Parker Oktoberfest
Twelve years ago, we launched our first Oktoberfest celebration in Parker Colorado as PAC (Parker Arts Council). Primarily as a cultural awareness and fundraising opportunity, we have grown it to a size now that pushes well over 35,000 visitors, 75 vendors and the need to have an outside company partner with us to put it on! We are in our 12th year, and feel we put on a pretty authentic Oktoberfest!
Authentic German heritage is our theme, and this year we are focused even more on authentic beer, foods and even vendors who will be setting up their wares for us on the grassy streets we create in O’Brien Park. Admission is free for our family-friendly German-themed festival which includes a number of fun activities for children and great things to do for adults.
COLORADO COUNCIL OF ARTS, SCIENCE & CULTURE
The Colorado Council of Arts, Science & Culture (CASC) started the Parker Oktoberfest twelve years ago (as PAC and now as CASC) to celebrate the German culture in Parker and to help raise funds for other CASC events and partnership events during the year.
The CASC was formed in 2003 by a group of professionals–musicians, artists, teachers, directors, and business leaders–who wanted to bring more opportunities for the youth to experience and participate in the arts and sciences. The CASC received 501(c)(3) non-profit status in early 2004 and received their first funding from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) in October 2004. The CASC has received SCFD grant monies to enrich their program offerings in each subsequent year.
The CASC is always seeking new ideas and cultivating their relationships with other organizations and local businesses. The Council plans to continue these alliances as well as develop new associations with businesses to further enhance their programs.
CASC relies on community support to sustain its programs in Douglas County and the front-range and truly appreciates the generous support it receives from its sponsors and would like to thank them for their continued support.
